About Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR), Institute for Medical Technology Assessment (iMTA)
The Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) is a university in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, with approximately 3,700 academic staff members and 24,000 students. The EUR has seven faculties and focuses on three domains: economics and management; law, culture and society; and medicine and health sciences. The Institute for Medical Technology Assessment (iMTA) is a research institute at the EUR and has played a key role in MTA research in the Netherlands, Europe and worldwide.
The iMTA is a university-based scientific institute that is distinguished by independent and excellent research in medical technology assessment, including health economics and health outcomes research. It is dedicated to support the use of cost-effectiveness information in healthcare decision making. To date, more than 600 research projects have been completed in various areas of health care.
Major funding bodies like governments and government-related institutions, the European Commission, the WHO, health care organizations, charity foundations and the pharmaceutical industry have sponsored these projects.
